Topic: What to do, what to do..
Here are my stats:
31 y.o. female, 144 lbs, 5'2. I have just lost 80 lbs over the last year.
I gave birth to a 9 lb baby 21 months ago.
I have suspected that I have had internal hemorrhoids for a while. 6 weeks ago, I had a very very painful bump next to my rectum that wouldn't go away. I couldn't walk or sit down without wanting to cry.
Made an OBGYN appt (Didn't know who else to call) and she referred me to a colorectal surgeon. (she said it was far to big for her to deal with-and I respect that-she is a great doc)
Went to the colorectal surgeon and she was a little amazed at how big it was since I had already had it for a few weeks by that point. Prescribed analpram and told me that she would probably need to take it off surgically but we need to get it to go down some before even talking about that.
I did some of the natural stuff, with no relief. I am no longer in awful pain, but I am uncomfortable and I can't live this way. Wiping is painful, bending is painful, walking is just more uncomfortable.
I am a runner and I can't train for my upcoming marathon-too uncomfortable.
I lift weights-can't do that either. Right now I am walking a bit, but it is also pretty uncomfortable.
I have a 34 (big buy) 21 month old son that I have to pick up on and off throughout the day. I also have a daughter with special needs so I pick her up periodically throughout the day also. (She is 6, 40 lbs) My husband travels A LOT, so a lot of time it is just me with the kids.
I am unsure of what to do. I am thinking I just need to go have it taken off. I have NO idea what the recovery time is like though... I am just assuming that I will need help with the kids for a while-anyone have any thoughts on that? We can hire someone...I just need to know for how long... Or should I just keep trying various things? I know I can't keep going on (in pain) like this forever. Also, I want to get out and run. I am so upset about all this.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
