Thank you dugu for your reply. The stools themselves do not contain blood. I understand that the stools would be a much darker colour if this was the case. Right now I am not in pain but I can often be for a few hours or more after passing a stool. It is a burning/stinging sensation around the anus. This would be similar to acid corroding the skin if i was to describe the pain. I cant really say that there would be itchyness all the time bt again, I have had this feeling often....usually for a short time after passing a stool and (embarrassingly) if passing wind. I am not a regular exerciser and I don't go to the gym. My diet is reasonable but could be much better. I am 6 ft (183cm) and have a well proportioned frame (not over weight). I am a clinical hypnotherapist so nutritional knowledge is relatively important for weight loss clients. I would normally pass a stool once and occasionally twice per day. I have been known to go a few days without passing but i'm not sure this is relevant. I will certainly take a look at your ebook and will see my doctor soon.

Hi. Great site here. Very helpful. I know self diagnosis is not recommended and is usually wrong. However, in this case, I think I may be right.
I'm a 25 yro male weighing at 90 kgs. I weighed just over 100 kgs about a year ago which is when I first noticed blood when wiping after a stool. Actually no; come to think of it.....I had an external hemorrhoid when I was 18. I am absolutely sure of this. But there was no blood and I often strain to quickly dispose of stools. The first sign of blood was last year and I thought I had torn my anus a little. Since then, I have suffered on and off with painful bowel movement and external hemorrhoids. I can't be 100% but I believe I also have internal hemorrhoids.
Over the past few weeks, there has been a considerable amount of bright red blood in the WC and when wiping. Occasionally there are clots when wiping. Less than an hour ago, there was more clotting than I have experienced before. I am guessing this is a prolapsed hemorrhoid. I have been hoping this problem will go away. Will it?
PS - I work from home and sit quite alot but i sit on a very comfortable reclining couch. I spend as little time on the wc as possible. I do have a high meat diet and don't eat much veg. I do not exercise regularly. And I am married with kids...so no anal sex before.
