Topic: Possible hemorrhoids...

Hi, your website is really helpful, however I am not sure whether I am suffering from hemorrhoids or something else.  I am 27, not overweight and have a fairly healthy diet and exercise regime.  For the last couple of years I have experienced pain whilst passing stools and have also had some blood when wiping.  I thought that it may have been external hemorrhoids as I had small lumps of skin/flesh outside of my anus.  I went to my doctor who provided me with a cream called anusol.  I have been using this on and off for some time and have not seen any improvement or change in my symptoms. 
I only experience pain whilst passing a stool and there is no burning sensation or pain afterwards.  Could this be something other than a hemorrhoid or would you recommend returning to the doctor?

Any advice very gratefully received.

To be honest I think you really are somewhat about to come down with hemorrhoids
